Outfit of the Day: Layering

{Dress: H&M, Chambray Top: American Eagle, Necklace: Gift, Boots: Nordstrom BP}

Before I get into my outfit, I would like to note a few things. Please ignore my chipped nail polish and the garbage bins in the background, I did not see that until after uploading my pictures. When I saw it, it made me really mad because it took forever trying to actually get a good lighting!

Now it is time for another outfit of the day with Nicole! First off I would like to share a tip that has saved me countless times when I have had a wardrobe malfunction: Pick a dress, that way you have a top and bottom picked out. After that its easy, all you have to do is just accessorize or layer and go!

Today I wore a black dress, but decided to layer a chambray top because it was chilly and I did not want to lug around a heavy jacket all day at school.

To get the tied chambray look, I tied the chambray top by first tucking in the top to the waist level, then gathering the two front ends, and knotting them. Once it was knotted, I buttoned up the remaining buttons till I achieved the look I wanted.  By doing it this way, the knot will be messy, but it will stay put.

Summer Dresses Under $50

{From left to right: Lulus, Forever 21, Nordstrom, PacSun, PacSun}

Summer is just around the corner, and I for one just cannot wait! Since Summer is almost here, I have chosen my top 10 Spring dresses that I fell in love with. Not only that, but all the dresses are under $50! Now you can shop till you drop, without hurting your little wallet (too much)!  I think that my favorite of this bunch would have to be the top left dress from Lulu's. Which dress is your favorite?

Outfit of the Day: Camille

Hi everyone! Well, the sun was in Washington for a while, but now its gone! :( I really loved this outfit that my friend Camille was wearing the other day. She wore shorts and a tank top that gave off a Spring/Summer vibe, but layered a dark green military inspired jacket to keep warm during a chilly breeze. My favorite part of Spring, is not having to wear a heavy jacket all the time; however, you should always be prepared with a light jacket, just like Camille has on here! Lastly, I would like to thank my dear friend Camille for letting me use her pictures on my blog!

Longing for the Beach

{Top: Hollister, Belt: Lulu's/Nordstrom, Shorts: Hollister, Shoes: DSW/Steve Madden}

Hi everyone! This outfit was inspired by the great weather in Washington, and my longing to go to the beach, hence the title. I am in love with the new shorts a bought that aren't quite black or grey, but more of a charcoal color. The one item that really spoke "beach" to me in closet, but was still appropriate for school and the 65 degrees weather, was a woven belt. Hopefully I will be able to wear my favorite beach atire (swimsuit and sunglasses) soon!

Weekend Inspiration: Carrie Diaries

{Images from Google Images}

Happy Sunday everyone! Recently I have been obsessed with The Carrie Diaries. It is a tv show about Carrie's life before "Sex and the City".  I love all the outfits she wears! My favorite outfit so far is the picture above.  She pairs a green dress with a maroon pair of tights.  Then to top it off with a vintage touch, she pins on a beautiful brooch.  I love how the green and the maroon look great, but is a combo I never would've considered until now! Well now I have to go hunt down a vintage brooch of my own!

Balance is Key

{Top: Hollister, Skirt: Thrifted, Jacket: Nordstrom Rack, Oxfords: Nordstrom Rack}

Hi everyone! The first picture is a touch dark because when I took it the clouds were still hovering in the sky, so sorry about that! Today I had a mini-presentation at school, and decided I would dress up a little. I picked a tailored white button down top, and decided to try a little print, so I threw on the tribal pattern inspired skirt. Since, I don't have to the presentation every class period, I kept it casual with some oxfords and a light jean jacket. Have a great weekend!

P.S. I styled the same oxfords in a different way in one of my previous blog posts if you want to check that out:

Fashion Flashback: Overalls

{From left to right: Phillip Lim, Ralph Lauren, Phillip Lim}

Do you remember wearing overalls every day? I sure do! I called it the "Overall Age." Luckily, I enjoyed wearing them, and I still do. Good news for those who, like me, like overalls; they are back! For those of you who don't like overalls, I am sorry but they are here to stay. I am totally in love with the ones seen on Phillip Lim, and Ralph Lauren runways, but I unfortunately do not have the money for that (yet!). Even though I really am digging the overall comeback, I really love the look of the short overalls! Here are some of my picks for short and long overalls:

Adventure for Cupcakes

{Sweater: American Eagle, Jeans: Hollister, Bag: Nordstrom, Shoes: DSW, Scarf: Macy's, Hair Band: L. Erickson, Nail Polish: Essie- Avenue Maintain}

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! My weekend included a delicious Neapolitan Trophy Cupcake!

Since, it is still a bit chilly here in Washington I decided to wear a pair of lovely sandals but I had to layer a scarf over my loosely knit sweater to keep me warm.  My favorite part of outfit is, believe it or not, my nail polish color! I just can't get enough of the perfect shade of blue of the Essie polish.

Essential Accessories

{Bag: Nordstrom/Lulu, Necklace: Gifted, Watch: Gucci, Nail Polish: Essie in Avenue Maintain, Ponies: L. Erickson}

Hi everyone! Did you see the new "Pin it" icon when you hover over a picture? Do you like it? Today is my last day of Spring break (not including the weekend) which makes me sad.  Spring break really flew by this year!

These are my essentials, that I use A LOT! I am currently obsessed with anything bright, as you might already know. I like to keep my most use items versatile, and bold.  Since it is Spring (it doesn't seem like it according to all the rain) I tie my hair back most of the time to show off my statement necklaces. My watch was originally my mom's, but she gave it to me! I love having a bright color on my nails. It is a good way to add a pop of color into your outfit.  Lastly, I really like the quilting on my bag, and it is the perfect size for shopping with my friends.

Statement Sunnies

{Starting from the top right: Nordstrom, Urban OG, Urban Outfitters, Forever 21}

One of my favorite Summer/Spring staples are sunglasses! I always buy a new pair every summer, and I have started quite the collection now. I mean whats not to like, they keep your eyes protected and keep you looking effortlessly chic. On the 2013 Spring/Summer runways, the sunglasses were bold, bright, and unique. Statement sunglasses are all the rage. If you want to be bold pick one in a cool shape, and bright color! If you aren't quite ready for that, there are still tons to choose from such as, a bright color but in a classic shape, or a cool shape in a classic black.  There are so many options, I might end up with way to many sunglasses this year!

Seeing Green

This year's color of the year: Emerald Green! No wonder we've been seeing green everywhere. Its green in spring, summer, and fall.  For spring/summer the greens are brighter, such as the top right picture.  In the fall the shade becomes a darker green, such as the bottom right picture. No matter what shade, its for sure that green is the color to wear!

April Showers

Top: A boutique, Parka: Zara, Jeggings: Holister, Shoes: Nordstrom, Necklace: A present

Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of new posts, I have been bombarded with homework and presentations this week. Finally I am free, and on Spring break now! Of course on my first official day on Spring break, Washington decides to reel in the rain. On a side note, parakas are great for a rainy days, when it isn't chilly enough to wear the winter coats.

P.S. I will try to be consistent and post every two days!
